I collected your Chapter 13 Booklet at the beginning of class for homework check marks. I showed you a short video called "The Impacts of Globalization" today, and while you watched the video you were to complete a film study sheet. This video introduces you to the differences between economic growth and economic development, the poverty cycle, and the Human Development Index (HDI), as well as the benefits and problems with joining the EU by looking at the case study of Ireland. After that I gave you an article on electronic waste and China, and the links that Canada has to the illegal trade of electronic waste to China. We also watched a short video to accompany this reading from CBC News in Review. I gave you about 50 minutes of class time before the break to work on your Chapter 14 Booklet (this will be due tomorrow). After the break, we watched "Who Killed the Electric Car?" and completed a film study to go along with the film.

Unit 3 Final Exam Study Guide:

Your Unit 3 Final Exam is on Thursday, July 22nd. This final exam has a different format than your previous unit finals. There is a short matching section, and you must also complete a chart (point form answers) on what supporters or critics might say about certain international agreements or organizations (please see the Chapter 11 Quiz Study Guide for an idea of what this might look like). There will also be a multiple choice section to this test (25 multiple choice questions), and a written component as well.
